ABOUT VELVET VISIONS
Velvet Visions is a bi-monthly burlesque open stage produced by Vixen Vega and Dottie Rebelle. It’s a space for established performers to test new acts, revive old ones, and for newer performers to gain stage experience.
We welcome a wide range of variety acts — burlesque, drag, pole, belly dance, and more. Out-of-the-box ideas are encouraged. If you’re unsure whether your act is a fit, reach out!
Most shows are not themed, though we occasionally make exceptions (e.g. October = Spooky Season).
CASTING PROCESS
The process may vary from month-to-month, but typically ...
Signup opens 4 to 6 weeks before show day; link posted here and on producer socials.
8 to 10 open slots awarded on a first-come basis.
Priority given to performers new to Velvet Visions. Returning performers may sign up but are not guaranteed a spot.
Completing the casting form does not guarantee booking; confirmation comes via email.
Music must be delivered to producers before show day, or you forfeit your spot.
Messy acts welcome, but must be cleared with producers in advance. No oils. Bring your own drop cloth and cleaning supplies.
PERFORMER PAY
Velvet Visions does not guarantee a set minimum. We keep oversight light to preserve creative freedom, but if payouts ever fall to an unsustainable level, producers will adjust to ensure fairness.
Cuts: Performers + producers each receive one cut of door + pooled tips.
Support staff: Kittens and crew receive a flat $35–$50 (based on revenue).
Tips: Collected after each act and at finale. All act tips go to kittens for pooling.
