I’m Rachel, a Mixed Media jewelry surrealist, children’s author & illustrator living in Dubai. While my main career is not art, traumatic events drew me to creating art from childhood. What started out as therapy resulted in a purpose driven life fueled by passion.

My pain became my muse as it transformed me into beauty. There is no beauty without pain. Beauty flourishes on sorrow. It's enriched by the knowledge that life is fleeting, sometimes cruel, and often ends without resolution. While beauty stems from pain, pain is temporary but beauty lasts forever. I express my journey of transformation into my artwork using jewelry.

Jewelry is significant to me in art as it represents our lives from start to finish —the process of a stone in its birth— rough, unformed and ugly to a beautiful final finished diamond, pearl or gemstone formed under the stress of life and growth.
